SEXISM IN SPACE What the original poster below neglects to mention is this poster extends patriarchy and the sexism of humanity far beyond our solar system. The man’s arm and hand is raised in salutation, the woman’s hands and arms are by her side. Both implicitly and explicitly the image denotes that it is man who has the power to talk and greet for humanity, not women. There is no equality, there is a continuance of patriarchy. prehistoricloveinspiration: Slightly off topic, but apparently a golden plaque was brought on to the Pioneer 10, the first space shuttle to leave our solar system, in case extraterrestrials intercepted the shuttle. The image is of Man and Woman, and the drawings at the bottom indicate where in the solar system the shuttle was coming from. Craaaazy!!!! The 70’s were a cool time. You know when was even cooler? 70,000 BC :)  PS- It’s 1:50 am and I have about 30 tabs open on my internet browser.
